Early Spring Socks

Finally, final is over. Decided to work on a pair of socks which I bought it last Spring. It is Crystal Palace Panda Cotton. The pics. is here. I prefer this Provisional Cast On tutorial.

Actually, I was thinking of knitting up a camisole from Beaded Cami by Black Dog Designs.
But, .... there are too many projects in queue. Need to get the sock done first.

Happy Knitting before the next quarter start!

Blogging Experience

Blogging experience
I enjoy reading blogs regarding cooking and craft, especially knitting. With so many people sharing their thoughts and skills on the net, I definitely enjoy and appreciate that people take times to put things together for sharing.
For knitting, knitters enjoy posting what they are working on. Constantly, knitters also share their opinions on the yarn and pattern. To me, before I start a new project, I will check on the net if anyone has done the sweater before. Or anything I have to watch out for. That is valuable information, because knitting take time. Frogging a project is not what every knitter enjoys.

Blogging can be addicting. Sometimes, I waste a lot of time on reading blogs, from one to another and another……..

Impact blogging to the society:
Blogging brings people with the same interest together. There are many knitters out there: from Germany, France, London, Japan, China, Singapore and so on. The most interesting part is translating the patterns to different languages. Knitters with different background are able to translate from this language to that.
Spending too much time on blogging could be the down side of blogging. It could bring us to know people from far, but isolate us from people that close by.
Another impact is… more ads business for Google and other blogging services.

OK, back to business. knitting stuff.
A nice Croppin' Style: Victorian-Inspired Crop Sweater was air on knitty-gritty, DIY network.
Here is the full complete instruction for the pattern if you missed the air time. A good way to learn multidirectional technique. Written by Iris Schreier, the queen of multidirectional knitting. It is knitted with 2 skeins Artyarns Silk Rhapsody. Very nice and fine yarn. Pricey but worth it.

Podcast

I am trying to add podcast about felting to this blog. Please bear with me.

I have my daughter to read a message for me. She is a great help. I am glad this is part of the assignment, else I don't think I will force myself to work on this podcasting. I am glad I went through this.

Dimensional Felting

Here is the picture for felted scarf. The purple is mine, MINE! The other scarf belongs to my friend. I just help her to felt it. I felted it by hand to control how far the felting is. You may wonder how the "ball" effect works. I learned it from Nicky Epstein from her book Knitting never Felt Better. Tied acorn onto the scarf and felt it. After dried , then untied the acorn and .... tada!

The scarf was knitted with size 6 needle with Rowan kidsilk mohair. CO 60 sts and knit stockinette stitch. I just use one ball.

Not much knitting was done due to Final and school project need to be done. Maybe I should just take one class ...... more time to knit!

knitty.com freebie is out! Check it out! I like Jaden and the Shrug, Nob Hill.
